Summer 2010

Wow, we can't believe summer is over. Lachlan had many great times including trips to the beach, swimming in the pool, playing at Sesame Place, and petting the goats and sheep at the Hartford Fair. Click on the photo below to view pictures and a couple of short video clips from the summer.

Spring 2010

We've had an exciting spring. Lachlan went to his first concert (Sesame Street Live) and even had a meet and greet with some of the characters. His favorite things these days are playing outside, music, looking at books, and anything Sesame Street. His favorite food is still fruit (by far). He knows the names of all the other children and teachers at his school. He can also identify all of his colors, many of his letters, and can count to 14. We're looking forward to an active summer! Christmas 2009 & Winter 2010

Our family had a great holiday season. Not only did Santa bring Lachlan lots of nice gifts, we had great visits with our families. Lachlan got his first taste of a Noreaster and is saying more and more each day. Hope you enjoy the pictures by clicking on the link below.

Lachlan's First Birthday and more!

Thank you to everyone that helped Lachlan celebrate his first birthday. Ben & I can hardly believe he is one! Lachlan is growing up so quickly, he has given up his bottle and baby food in exchange for sippy cups and table food. He is cruising around with ease now & has taken as many as 6 steps before falling. No doubt he'll be walking very soon. He likes to chat, but Da Da and Dog are the only words we can make out. As you'll see in the pictures, Lachlan had his first trip to the beach and even rode the carousal. Here's the link to the photos:

Spring is here!

After about a month of struggling to crawl, Lachlan's not only crawling but also pulling himself up into a standing position. He really enjoys going out to restaurants. He sits nicely in his highchair and eats little finger foods. To the left is a photo from Mother's Day. Now that the weather is warm, we've been spending some time outside & he loves that. Hopefully, we'll have some beach photos in the next post!

January / February 2009

Hi Family,

We welcomed in the new year, and are now deeped in the duldrums of winter. Luckily, we have Lachlan to keep us laughing and on our toes. Lachlan has really come a long way in the last two months, and can now:

- When positioned, sit-up
- Eat solid (well, what passes for solid in terms of baby) food in his high-chair
- Play with plastic toys
- Parallel park a 24' Ryder moving truck

We have posted some pictures and also some VIDEOS! Liz was awesome enough to get the family a really cheap video camera that takes half decent pictures (curse that Chinese ingenuity!). Anyway, we apologize for the lapse in posting, but hope to do soe more often as we just got a new computer. These go all the way back to Christmas, so bear with us.

October

This month has been pretty active. Early in the month we took a trip to Pt Pleasant, NJ to visit Great Grandma Burke. Then Liz went back to work on the 15th, which means Lachlan started day care. He has adjusted to his new school quickly and loves looking at the other babies.

The Phillies won the World Series!! Check out some photos of Lachlan in his Phillies cap as well as some pics Ben took at the parade downtown.

Halloween was fun. Lachlan dressed up as a monkey & Leo and Sofie were pumpkins. We had fun giving out candy to the trick or treaters.

Lachlan 2 months

This month's big news is Lachlan had his extra fingers removed at CHOP. The whole process took about 10 minutes and now he's left with just a couple of stitches that will dissolve in about a week. He was a brave little guy & as you'll see from the pictures, he was determined to chew through his bandages. They dipped his binky in sugar water to calm him done & he officially has a sweet tooth! Also included in these photos is a visit from the Price grandparents.

Lachlan Weeks 5,6,7, & 8

Lachlan has really developed tremendously this past month. At his one month check-up he was 10 bls 12 ozs, gaining 3 bls since birth. Keeping up with this pace, he's weighing in at 13 bls 5 ozs at two months old. As you'll see from a lot of the photos Lachlan has started to smile and laugh. He's quite a happy baby. Lachlan is also quite chatty, he loves babbling to Mommy & Daddy. He's done a lot this month including an overnight at Nana's, walks through Ridley Park, and his first play date at Baby Katie's house (Liz's friend Anne's daughter). Weeks 3 and 4 - Liz and the Baby - Alone at last

With all of the visiting family gone, and Ben back to work, Liz finds herself settling into a daily routine with Lachlan. Shehas found that Lachlan enjoys long walks, hair salons, and the reception area for her Allergist. Lachlan has also settled on a formula (he is a picky but good eater), and is starting to develop a personality. Lastly, the Department of Defense stopped by this week to ask if they could use Lachlan for sleep deprivation interrogations at Guantanamo Bay. We considered it, but we're going to stick with him.....for now.

Thanks to all the visitors over the last few weeks! Check out the new pictures below, including Lachlan's first big trip to the Spruyt's!

Week 2 - Getting the Hang of This

Despite sporadic outbursts of panicked cry, and unpredictable sleep patterns, our first week as parents to Lock (nickname as determined by on-line poll) has been rather smooth. Lock made his first visit to the pediatrician (he is back at his birth weight, although he shrunk from 20.5 inches to 19.75), and has rested in a wide array of seating and sleeping devices. We believe his favorite for now is the bouncy chair (thanks Carol Boyle!), although this seems to be evolving. The dogs have take quite a shine to Lock - Sophie is constantly sniffing him to see if it really Lock or an impostor baby, and Leo stays true to his form by licking Lock every chance he gets.

We'll be posting pictures of week 2 under the link at below - sometimes the updates are daily, sometimes every other day. Look forward to posting next week. Enjoy the pictures!

Liz and Ben had a Baby!

On July 17, 2008, Lachlan Philip Price made his grand entrance into the world at 3:09 pm. Weighing in at a respectable 7lbs. 9oz. and measuring 20.5 inches in length, Lachlan (pronounced Lock-lan)has overwhelmed us with joy. As you can see by clicking on the link below, Lachlan is healthy, handsome and strong. He bears a strong resemblance to his mother (thus, the good looks), and was even born with her six fingers!

Thanks to all friends and family who showed up to help us welcome Lachlan, and who called and/or sent flowers. We will be updating with new pictures every few days! (Editors Note: It was brought to our attention that we had Lachlan's birthday as 7/19. It is, of course, 7/17. We regret the error and thank Grandpa Spruyt for pointing it out)

The New Baby is Here! Well, maybe just the room, for now

After months of back breaking labor, contractor delays, furniture recalls, and around 518 drops of the Allen wrench, we finally have the nursery in a good place. All we are waiting for is a small rug and a surge in motivation to put together a bookshelf from IKEA (a process for which I will have one of my fingers surgically replaced with an Allen wrench). Many thanks to Jim O., Nicole, Mike from Mr. Sandless, paint guy from Home Depot with 5 teeth, and all the friends and family that contributed to making this room cozy. Click on the link below to go to the album.

We have cool friends and family!

Welcome to the Price Family Website!

With the baby coming soon, thought that this would be a great place to share pictures and thoughts with friends and family.
